Objective: Help you connect, learn to notice, and follow your own intuition more often. Teach you how to set boundaries with your voice and body language. Understand the power your body can generate. Prevent you from being a vulnerable victim. Imagine a time when you felt fearful, powerless, and/or vulnerable. Maybe nothing happened to you, but just the feeling was a bit unsettling. Or maybe something did happen to you, maybe you find yourself frequently vulnerable. What would it look like to act courageously and with confidence when faced with people or situations that have caused you to feel ineffective in the past? This is a self-defense class, and it is FUN! The human body’s built-in threat response system is sufficient and powerful when you understand it. This class is a combination of new knowledge (for many), physical awareness, and demonstration of your own ability. For many who have taken this class (men and women alike), a new confidence emerges. If you only took one class from us, this would be the one we would recommend. The format of the class is small, intense and fun. It’s a bit of “tell and show”; we tell you what you’re capable of, then show you how to use it by putting you through a few experiences. We’ll cover the ABC’s of personal safety:
- Awareness-How to be more aware and interpret your surroundings and what your body is innately capable of delivering.
- Boundaries-How to set and maintain physical boundaries. This takes the motivation out of most offenders.
- Core Confidence/Combatives. How to tap into superhuman strength and take the fight out of a motivated offender.
