Fighting Chance Handgun 1

Course Length: 7 Hours Course Goals

  • Demonstrate how your mind and body are currently capable of performing when you are under threat of bodily harm.
  • How you introduce a weapon (gun) when necessary.
  • Introduce the most important gun skills and a plan for skill retention with incremental skill improvements.

This course has something for every skill level. It’s greatest advantage is moving someone from fear of a place of fear to a place of confidence; confidence in their gun handling ability and confidence in their ability to meet the threat. Women learn to become their own most capable guardian.

You’ll receive a little:

  • Shooting with movement, because you must avoid being shot yourself.
  • Drawing from a holster, because your almost guaranteed not to have your guns out before you need it.
  • Shooting safely, yet outside your comfort zone.
  • Other useful basic skills as time permits.

Oklahoma no longer requires a concealed carry permit to carry a concealed handgun for residents of Oklahoma. How ever, this course goes beyond what would be required to obtain a concealed weapons license. It addresses what we can reasonably expect to happen in a self-defense encounter.

This course can be split into two sessions. The first session can be held in a private location, including a home. Some space requirements do exist. Contact us to see about arranging it. Every student must have for their personal use the following:

  • A fighting handgun (semi-auto preferred) with kydex (plastic) or rigid leather, “strong side” holster.  NOTE: If you don’t already have one, Fobus Holster’s produce inexpensive holsters that work great for this training. You can buy them on Amazon, just make sure the one you purchase fits your exact handgun.
  • 2 magazines (3 is better).
  • AMMO: 150 rounds
  • Clothing appropriate for weather, food and water
  • Sturdy belt for holster work.
  • Eye and ear protection.*

*As an option, many firearms have an airsoft pistol replica. If you can find one, this is an excellent training resource for the class and beyond whenever you do training. If you choose this option you can reduce the live round count by half, but you will need to bring whatever gas your replica uses and the pellets.
