Build Relationships, Not Just Referrals

Most partnership programs are transactional: send us customers, we’ll send you a check.

This isn’t that.

At Valor Training Range, we’re inviting you into something different—a partnership built on shared experience, genuine relationships with your customers, and training that actually transforms how people show up with their firearms.

Here’s the difference: You don’t just refer customers to us. You (or someone you trust) train with us first. And when you tell your customers “We’ve been through this training, and here’s what we experienced,” that’s not a referral—it’s a testimony.

Why This Partnership Is Different

Experience It Yourself. Lead Your Customers Into Better Training.

When a gun store owner recommends a product, customers listen. But when you share your own experience—or your trusted team member’s experience—with training that challenged you, revealed gaps you didn’t know existed, and built real capability? That changes everything.

What makes this partnership powerful:

1. Relational Power

Your recommendation carries weight because it’s personal. Whether you experience the training yourself or send a trusted team member, someone you trust has been through it and can speak authentically about the experience. You’re not handing out brochures—you’re sharing real testimony from someone who knows your business and values.

2. Financial + Experiential Value

Most referral programs offer money or discounts. We’re offering both—plus the intangible value of becoming better, more capable versions of yourselves.

3. Natural Self-Selection

Store owners who actually train with us (or send their team) become our best partners. The ones who don’t? They were never going to be true advocates anyway. This model identifies the right partners naturally.

Handgun training in Oklahoma City.

What Your Customers Get:

  • Honest assessment of current capability
  • Training built around real-world scenarios, not just punching holes in paper
  • A clear path to becoming more capable
  • Predictable, reasonable cost — we’re upfront about what they’re committing to financially
  • “Make the most of every box” — sessions structured so every round fired moves toward a specific outcome, maximizing training value per box of ammunition

What This Partnership Does for Your Business

The Practical Benefits

Let’s talk about the business value—because while the mission matters, so does your bottom line.

Deeper Customer Relationships Drive Revenue

When you train alongside your customers (or send them to training you’ve vetted and approved), you’re no longer just the person who sold them a gun. You become their trusted advisor on preparedness, capability, and confidence.

That relationship brings them back—not just once, but repeatedly. For holsters. For ammo. For their next firearm. For advice. And eventually, they send their friends to you too. This creates customer lifetime value that far exceeds a single transaction.

Differentiation in a Crowded Market

Every gun store sells the same brands. Most offer the same prices. So what makes a customer choose you over the shop down the street?

Relationship.

When you can say, “My team has trained at Valor—here’s what we learned about carrying under stress” or “Let me tell you why this holster setup worked better than expected during scenario training,” you’re offering something your competitors can’t match: genuine, experience-based guidance.

You Become the Go-To Resource, Not Just Another Retailer

Customers who train—especially through progressive, realistic training—inevitably need gear, upgrades, and advice. When they know you’ve vetted the training yourself (or through someone you trust), where do you think they go first?

This partnership positions you as the expert who’s walked the walk, not just the person behind the counter.

Direct Financial Benefits

  • Training credits per session (4 customers per date = 1 free spot for that session)
  • Revenue share on every registration you generate
  • Ongoing passive income as customers return for additional classes

Natural Lead Generation

Students who go through training often realize they need better holsters,
upgraded sights, more reliable ammunition, or different carry options. When
you’re the partner they know and trust? You’re their first call.

Community Building & Reputation

Store owners who actively train and support real preparedness build reputations
that extend beyond their four walls. You become known as someone who
genuinely cares about customer capability—not just closing sales. That type of
reputation is marketing you can’t buy.

Bottom Line: The best ROI isn’t measured in immediate dollars—it’s measured in
relationships that compound over years. When customers see you as the person
who pointed them toward real capability (not just product), they don’t just buy
from you—they advocate for you.

How the Training Progression Works

From Shared Sessions to Your Own Closed Funnel

Here’s how the partnership evolves—and why it creates powerful incentives for you and your customers:

Phase 1: Group Training (Getting Started)

When you first join the partnership, your customers train alongside customers from other partnering stores. This keeps costs low and gets people training

immediately—no waiting for minimum numbers.

Your customers still get world-class training. You still earn credits and revenue share. Everyone wins.

Phase 2: Dedicated Sessions (Building Your Funnel)

Once you reach a certain threshold of customers training regularly, you unlock something powerful: dedicated training sessions exclusively for your customers.

Now you’re not just a partner—you’re running your own closed funnel:

  • Your customers train together
  • They build relationships with each other (and you)
  • They associate quality training with your store
  • The experience becomes distinctly yours

Why This Matters:

When your customers train in dedicated sessions, they’re not meeting customers from competing stores. They’re building community with your customer base.

That’s retention gold.

Phase 3: Intelligence Sharing (Competitive Edge)

Here’s where it gets even better: as your customers train, we see what they’re asking for, what gear performs well under stress, and what fails.

We share that intelligence with you.

After dedicated sessions, we’ll provide debriefs covering:

  • Gear performance — what worked, what failed under stress
  • Common questions or needs your customers expressed
  • Upcoming training focus areas — so you can stock accordingly
  • Specific recommendations based on what we observed

This means you can:

  • Stock products that actually work (verified through training, not marketing)
  • Make recommendations based on real-world performance data
  • Anticipate customer needs before they walk in the door
  • Position yourself as the store that knows what works because you’ve seen it work

 Your competitors can’t match that.

Example: How the Progression Works in Practice

Let’s say you send 15 customers through training over three months. You’ve now unlocked dedicated sessions.

Through dedicated sessions, your customers:

  • Trained together
  • Built relationships with each other
  • Associate that transformative experience with your store
  • Now ask you (not random internet forums) what holster setup worked best, because you have direct insight from training

When Customer #16 walks in asking about defensive training, your previous 15 customers become your advocates. “Oh, you need to go through [Your Store]’s training program at Valor—it’s incredible.”

That’s a closed loop you control.

After their dedicated session, we’ll debrief with you: “Three of your customers asked about appendix carry solutions—might be worth stocking X brand” or “We noticed several students’ holsters failed under movement—here’s what held up” or “Your customers are ready for low-light training—this is what they’ll need.”

You’re no longer guessing what to stock. You’re making data-driven decisions
based on what your specific customers actually need and use.

The Progression Creates Natural Incentives:

The more customers you send to training → The faster you reach dedicated
sessions → The stronger your closed funnel becomes → The more intelligence
you receive → The better you serve (and retain) customers → The more they send
their friends to you

It’s a flywheel that compounds over time.

How the Partnership Works

Simple. Fair. Built for the Long Term.

For Every Customer You Refer:

  • Training credits per session (4 customers = 1 free spot for that date; 8 customers = 2 free spots)
  • Revenue share percentage on each registration
  • Custom registration link process to track your customer registrations

The Process:

  1. Experience the training (you or a representative of your choosing—but someone you trust must complete it and give us the “thumbs up”)
  2. Share your story (or your rep’s story) with customers who are serious about real preparedness
  3. Use your custom link for customer registrations
  4. Build credits and revenue with each sign-up
  5. Progress to dedicated sessions as your customer base grows

No complicated tracking. No hidden fees. Just straightforward partnership.

Who This Partnership Is For

This program works best for store owners who:

  • Believe training matters as much as equipment
  • Want to deepen relationships with customers, not just move product
  • Are willing to vet the training themselves (or through someone they trust) first
  • Value transformation over transactions

If you’re looking for a quick referral bonus with no skin in the game, this probably isn’t for you.

But if you want to be part of something that elevates the entire community— customers included—let’s talk.

What You’re Really Joining

A Mission, Not Just a Referral Program

Here’s what we didn’t say in the original outreach emails: why Valor exists beyond revenue.

We’re building something that reflects a different set of values—one where relationships come first, where we meet people where they are without shame, and where training reveals capability instead of highlighting inadequacy.

Most ranges sell access to equipment and target practice. We sell transformation through realistic training.

This is assessable, progressive, empowering training—not recreational shooting. And when you partner with us, you’re not just sending customers our way. You’re helping them discover what they’re truly capable of.

Relationships first. Problems second.

That’s the foundation. If that resonates, you’re the kind of partner we want.

Two Ways Your Customers Can Train With Us

The Valor Training Range is only accessible to customers of Valor Training Group, security teams with a training contract, and gun store customers who book training through their personalized process.

1. The Training Range (Broader Infrastructure)

  • Focus: Real-world preparedness for anyone serious about capability
  • Methodology: Meet clients where they are → show the gap → build the path forward
  • Outcome: Fight with your gun, not just shoot with it

2. Valor Training Group (Women’s Empowerment Focus)

  • Primary intent: Empower women through training
  • Women-focused classes and programming
  • Built on the same range methodology, tailored specifically for women

Both programs operate on the same principles. Both transform how people show up.

Ready to Partner?

Step 1: Experience the Training

We offer a 3-hour introductory session that demonstrates a sample of the first three levels of training. This session gives you (or your representative) a real feel for how we train—and gives us the opportunity to hear your input.

Here’s what makes this different:

  • You can attend without any credits—this session is on us for you to evaluate    You can sell this session to your customers from day one
  • We’ll schedule sessions on Saturdays (with Monday offerings added as needed)
  • After the session, we’ll gather your feedback—and we’ll review regularly to hear what your customers are telling you that they may not be sharing with us

Once you or your trusted representative gives it the thumbs up, we’ll activate your partnership.

Step 2: Let's Talk Partnership Details

We’ll walk through the program, answer questions, and get you set up with your custom registration link.

Step 3: Start Building Relationships

Share your experience with customers. Watch the transformation—in them and in your business.

Partnership FAQ — Gun Store Owner Questions

Getting Started

Q: Do I really have to train at Valor myself to join the program?

A: Either you or a representative you trust must complete the training and approve it (give it the “thumbs up”) before we activate your partnership.

Here’s why this matters: we need someone from your organization who has experienced the training firsthand and can authentically speak to what makes it different. That could be you, your store manager, your lead firearms instructor, or anyone you trust to evaluate quality and represent your business.

The point isn’t that you personally must shoot—it’s that someone you trust has verified this is worth recommending to your customers. Once they give the thumbs up, you’re good to go.

Q: Can I send multiple representatives through training?

A: Absolutely. In fact, we encourage it. The more people on your team who understand what makes this training different, the better you can speak to it with customers. Your team members can attend using credits you’ve earned for that specific session (4 customers registered = 1 free spot) or pay the difference if you haven’t earned enough credits for that date.

Q: What does the introductory training session cost?

A: The 3-hour introductory session is available for you (or your representative) to attend without credits as part of evaluating the partnership. You can also sell spots for this session to with you.

Q: How long does it take to become a partner after the intro session?

A : We can typically activate your partnership Immediately after your intro session* and thumbs-up approval. We’ll set up your custom regegistration code, walk through the tracking system, and get you ready to start referring customers.

*The intro session is not mandatory although it is highly encouraged. We want to to know that your customers are getting value and appropriate training.

The Progression & Thresholds

Q: How many customers do I need to send before I unlock dedicated sessions?

A: 15 active training customers over a 3 month period. This ensures sufficient volume to schedule dedicated sessions efficiently while keeping costs manageable for everyone.

Q: What counts as an "active training customer"?

A: Customers who have completed at least one training session through your referral code and remain engaged with ongoing training opportunities at least once per quarter.

Q: Can I accelerate reaching the dedicated session threshold?

A: Absolutely. The more customers you actively refer, the faster you reach dedicated sessions. Valor will add more sessions to accommodate the demand.

Q: What happens if my customer numbers drop below the threshold later?

A: We’ll work with you to maintain dedicated sessions as long as you’re actively building your training community. This isn’t a “gotcha” program—we want long-term partnerships, not revolving doors.

Q: How often can I schedule dedicated sessions once I reach the threshold?

A: Typically quarterly, or more frequently based on demand and scheduling availability. We’ll coordinate with you to find times that work for your customers.

Financial Details

Q: How do the training credits work?

A: Credits are earned per training session, not cumulatively. For each specific training date, every 4 customers you register earns you 1 free spot for that same session. Register 8 customers, and you get 2 free spots for that date. Credits are tied to the specific session and don’t carry forward to future training dates. These credits can be used for your staff or can be gifted to a customer.

Q: What if I want to send someone from my store to a session but we haven't earned enough credits for that date?

A: Your team member can still attend by paying the difference between what you’ve earned in credits and the full training price. For example, if you’ve registered 2 customers for that session (earning 50% of a free spot), your employee would pay 50% of the registration fee to attend that specific training date.

Q: What's the revenue share percentage?

A: You’ll receive 10% of each registration fee as revenue share.

Q: When do I receive revenue share payments?

A: Revenue share is paid within 1 week of each completed training session. You’ll receive detailed reports showing registrations, credits earned, and payments.

Q: Is there a cap on how much I can earn?

A: No cap on revenue share. The more customers you refer, the more you earn.

Q: What if a customer registers but doesn't complete the session?

A: You receive credit and revenue share for paid registrations. If a customer cancels within the refund window, the credit/revenue adjusts accordingly.

Intelligence Sharing & Dedicated Sessions

Q: What kind of "intelligence" will you actually share with me?

A: After your customers’ dedicated sessions, we’ll provide debriefs covering:

  • Gear performance (what worked, what failed under stress)
  • Common questions or needs your customers expressed
  • Upcoming training focus areas (so you can stock accordingly)
  • Recommendations based on what we observed

This is actionable business intelligence, not generic summaries.

Q: How do dedicated sessions actually work logistically?

A: Once you reach the threshold, we’ll coordinate directly with you to schedule sessions. You can promote them to your customer base, and we handle registration, instruction, and facility logistics. Your customers train together as a cohesive group.

Q: Can I attend the dedicated sessions even after completing training?

A: Yes! Many partners join their customers’ sessions—either to continue their own training or to strengthen relationships. This is encouraged, not required.

Q: Will you share my customers' personal information with other stores?

A: Never. Your customers’ information remains confidential. Intelligence sharing is aggregated and anonymized—we’ll never tell another store “Your customer John Smith asked about X product.”

Competitive Concerns

Q: What if another gun store in my area is already a partner?

A: Multiple partners in the same area is fine—and actually strengthens the program. During Phase 1 (group training), customers from different stores train together, which benefits everyone. Once you reach Phase 2 (dedicated sessions), your customers train separately, creating your closed funnel.

Q: Won't my customers meet other stores' customers and potentially switch?

A: It’s possible during Phase 1, but unlikely. Customers choose stores based on relationships, location, and service—not random encounters at training. And once you reach dedicated sessions, your customers only train with your customer base.

Q: Can I promote this partnership exclusively, or will you work with my direct competitors?

A: We work with multiple partners, but we’re selective. We prioritize store owners who genuinely invest in the training and their customers’ development. If a competitor joins, it validates the program’s value—and your early adoption gives you first-mover advantage.

Program Logistics

Q: How do customers register through my referral link?

A: You’ll receive a custom URL (e.g., valortraining.com/partner/[y ourstorename]) that tracks all registrations back to you. Customers can register online or in-store using your link.

Q: Can I promote this on my website and social media?

A: Absolutely. We encourage it. We’ll provide marketing assets (logos, graphics, suggested copy) that you can customize and use across your channels.

Q: What if I want to end the partnership?

A: You can exit anytime. Since credits are earned per session and expire at the end of that session, there are no accumulated credits to manage. Final revenue share payments are processed within 1 week of the last completed training session. We hope it doesn’t come to that, but we’re not in the business of forcing partnerships.

Q: Do you offer exclusive territory partnerships?

A: Not currently. We believe multiple strong partners in an area elevates the entire training community, which benefits everyone—including customers.

Training & Methodology

Q: What if my customers are complete beginners?

A: Perfect. We meet people where they are. Our methodology assesses current capability and builds from there—no shame, no judgment, just progressive skill development.

Q: What if my customers are experienced shooters?

A: Even better. Experienced shooters often benefit most from stress-response training because they realize how differently they perform under pressure vs. static range conditions.

Q: Do you offer classes beyond basic defensive training?

A: Yes. We offer progressive courses, low-light training, scenario-based training, and specialized programs through Valor Training Group (women- focused). As your customers advance, there are multiple pathways for continued development.

Q: What's the time commitment for customers?

A: [Insert typical course length—e.g., “Most introductory courses are 4-6 hours. Advanced courses may span multiple sessions”]. We design training to be accessible for working professionals and families.

Q: How much ammunition will customers need for training?

A: We structure every session to maximize training value per box of ammunition. We’re upfront about expected ammunition costs so customers know what they’re committing to before they register. Here’s our approach:

  • Predictable, reasonable cost — we tell customers the expected maximum ammunition needed for each session
  • “Make the most of every box” — sessions are deliberately lean and structured so every live round fired moves toward a specific outcome (accuracy, speed, stress management, etc.)
  • Optional higher-volume training — customers can always choose to use more ammunition if they want additional repetitions, but it’s never required

The result? Customers get maximum skill development without burning through boxes unnecessarily. Training costs remain a known variable, not a surprise

Q: How is the training structured?

A: Training is delivered in skill-based tracks. Students are placed in the appropriate track through basic drills and evaluation at the start. To advance from one track to the next, students must demonstrate proficiency by testing out of their current level. This ensures everyone trains at the right pace and builds a solid foundation before progressing.

Q: What does training look like at different skill levels?

A: Training complexity increases with each track. Basic levels focus on fundamental skills and safety. At the highest levels, students are moving, shooting, problem-solving, and communicating under realistic stress— preparing for real-world scenarios, not just static range performance.

Q: Why do training prices vary between tracks?

A: Different tracks require different instructor-to-student ratios and Range Safety Officer (RSO) coverage based on complexity and movement. Advanced tracks with dynamic training need more safety oversight.

Q: What sets Valor instructors apart?

A: We have high expectations for our instructors, and we compensate them well for their expertise and commitment. Our instructors put in significant effort to ensure training is relevant, practical, and safe. They’re not just teaching—they’re continuously investing in their own development to stay current with the best training methodologies. When you partner with us, you can count on your customers receiving instruction from professionals who are dedicated to excellence.
